Why Should Drug Addicts Attend NA Meetings?

Oftentimes, drug addicts are reluctant to attend group therapy meetings for a few reasons. They may be worried about sharing their life stories in front of a group of people. They may be concerned about what everyone will think of the choices they've made. They may feel that there's no sense in group therapy if they're already seeing a therapist.

While all of these concerns are understandable, they're not necessary. Group therapy has been proven to be one of the most effective counseling methods in the world.

It has helped so many people recover from addictions. By attending an NA meeting, you'll get to talk with other addicts who have been in your shoes. These are people who have faced many of the same challenges you're facing now. They've dealt with cravings and withdrawal symptoms, and they've come out of that experience better people.

Narcotics Anonymous follows the 12 Step Program of therapy. Because of this, it is shown to be quite effective at treating addictions. If you'd like to learn more about Narcotics Anonymous, please visit them at NA.org.

Testimonials for Narcotics Anonymous

It's always interesting to see what others have to say about Narcotics Anonymous. Here some excellent reviews from people who have attended NA meetings in the State of WA:

Bill says, "NA meetings saved my life, and I mean it when I say that. I had been sober for almost a year, and I was ready to go back to using. A friend encouraged me to go to Narcotics Anonymous. I was desperate for a way to avoid using, and I found it at NA. The people were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was inviting. They showed me that there was a better way to live my life. I'm so thankful I found NA when I did."

Samantha says, "I remember my first Narcotics Anonymous meeting. The last thing I wanted to do was sit in a roomful of strangers and complain about my past. I already knew I'd made some big mistakes with my life. I went because my husband practically begged me to go. During that time, I made some of the best friends I've ever had. People who were focused on staying sober, and remaining drug free. They inspired me and gave me the strength to push on through my own recovery."

Jeremy says, "My therapist recommended NA meetings to me after I got out of drug rehab. I agreed, but I didn't really think it would help me much. Man, was I wrong. I learned a lot from the people in those meetings. There were other guys there who all shared stories that were similar to mine. When I felt ready, I told them about all I had been through. So many people told me later that my story had an impact on them. I'm glad I could help them the way they helped me."

Other Drug Treatment Options in WA State

Of course, NA meetings are not the only means of getting support during drug addiction recovery. There are many ways to get professional help and treatment as well in Washington State.

Many people begin their recovery journeys by attending an inpatient treatment program first. This allows them to get detoxification services if they need them. It also allows them to stay in a facility for around a few weeks to get the treatment they need in a safe environment. There are also long-term rehab programs and sober living homes, which provide for even more support for a longer period of time.

Others may find that they need more flexibility, but they still need a high level of care. In cases like these, an intensive outpatient program might be the best option. IOPs allow people to continue to live at home, go to work or attend school while they get treatment. More traditional outpatient rehab programs also exist, and these require very short time commitments. Typically, clients would see a therapist for individual sessions and they may attend support groups.

In short, yes, it is possible to go to drug rehab online. This is a brand-new concept for a lot of people, but the reality is that there are many people who need this option.

Online rehab offers a lot of flexibility, which is something that many people need. Clients can connect with their therapist for individual sessions, and they may also be able to participate in group sessions as well.

About Northpoint Seattle’s Drug Addiction Recovery Program

At Northpoint Seattle, we offer a high-quality drug treatment program. Our focus is on outpatient rehab, and we have three levels of care that we offer to our clients.

Many of our clients will begin by attending our partial hospitalization program. This is the most intensive type of care we offer. Once they finish, they move on to our intensive outpatient program or IOP. This type of rehab offers more flexibility, and it is good for people who work during the day. They can still get the help they need by attending their appointments during the evening hours.

We also offer traditional outpatient rehab, which is much less of a time requirement. We carefully screen every client to make sure they are placed in the right program prior to starting treatment.

Yes, we do. We believe that having an online drug rehab is important. There are many people who are unable to attend in-person appointments for a number of reasons. They may work long hours, have small children at home, or have health issues. We want to be able to provide them with the care they need so they can recover from their addictions.

We use telehealth to connect with our clients virtually. This way, they can participate in individual therapy sessions and group therapy.

Will Health Insurance Cover the Cost of Drug Rehab in WA State?

By law, health insurance companies are required to provide their customers with benefits to help pay for addiction treatment. This includes both detox and rehabilitation services. Anyone who does not have health insurance should go to HealthCare.gov to get information about a policy.

At Northpoint Seattle, we participate with several health insurance companies. This allows us to accept as many people as possible into our program. We also accept Cobra for those who have been furloughed or laid off from their jobs.
