Northpoint Seattle College Scholarships Available

UPDATE - Northpoint Seattle will not be accepting applications for the 2020 school year. Please check back in the spring of 2020 for the chance to apply for the 2021 spring semester award.
If you’d like to prepare in advance here’s what our process looks like.

Northpoint Seattle offers college scholarships to those who seek a brighter future. Continued education offers students the opportunity of a lifetime. It is our intent to support this wonderful decision by offering scholarships in the amount of $1,250 total per year. The scholarship applies to students of qualifying two and four-year colleges, as well as post-grad students.

Applying for Northpoint Seattle's Scholarships

If you would like to apply for a college scholarship through Northpoint Seattle, simply complete an essay. The essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words. You can discuss a wide variety of topics.

Some examples of topics you may wish to cover include:

  • Addiction information that is based on solid research
  • Inspirational stories
  • Your own personal story of recovery, or a story from someone else
  • Information regarding the addiction field, and how you have experienced change because of it
  • A true story about addiction
  • A story about how addiction has affected someone's life

Your email must include the following:

  • Your full name
  • Your age
  • Your phone number
  • Your mailing address
  • The name of the college or university you attend or plan to attend.

To submit your application, send your essay via email, along with your transcript to: info@northpointrecovery.com. In the subject line, include: Your last name, your first name - Northpoint Seattle Scholarship. For example: Jones, Bob - Northpoint Seattle Scholarship.

Please Note: Your application gives us express consent to confirm your admission and attendance at the college/university you specified. By applying, you are permitting us to contact the college or university directly.


Scholarship Rules

In order to qualify as an applicant for the scholarship, you must:

  • Be a current US student
  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary education program for the upcoming semester
  • Not be an employee of Northpoint Seattle, or be related to an employee
  • Be 18 years old, or older.

Deadline for Scholarship Applications

Northpoint Seattle scholarship DEADLINE for submission is on May 30th each year. Applications will be accepted between August 1st and and May 31st. If an application is received after the May 31st deadline, will be applied to the next year's competition.


Scholarship Amounts and Notification of the Winners

The winners of Northpoint Seattle college scholarships will be announced each year on July 1st of EACH year. The winner will be notified via email used for submission, and the amount of the scholarship will be sent through mail, by check.

Scholarship amounts are as follows:

  • Grand Prize: $1,000
  • Runner Up: $250

By submitting an application to Northpoint Seattle, you agree and certify that all information you have provided is complete and accurate. You agree to transfer all rights and ownership of the information and written work you submitted to Northpoint Seattle. This applies even if you are not selected as a winner.

You also agree that your name, essay information and the amount of your award may be used in a number of ways. It may appear in blogs, announcements, on our website or in articles (i.e. newsletter articles and on social media). This is left to the sole discretion of Northpoint Seattle.

If you would like to remain anonymous if your essay is published, please request this in your initial submission or include the alias you would like to be used.

The selection of the winners is entirely at the discretion of Northpoint Seattle. Winners will be announced on this webpage. They will also be contacted directly at the email address they used when they submitted their applications.
