Drug and Alcohol Treatment

There are some people who do very well with AA and NA, and others who find that they need more support. In those instances, it is important to consider whether alcohol and drug treatment should be considered.

The first step is the recovery process for someone who has chosen treatment is usually medical detox. Of course, this will largely depend on the type of addiction they suffer from. Those who are addicted to opioids, alcohol, benzodiazepines and/or stimulants will most likely be recommended for this form of treatment.

Medical detox helps by treating withdrawal symptoms, which can become quite painful, and even dangerous in some cases. This form of treatment has allowed people to have a much better chance at success in the long-term.

Not everyone who needs to go to rehab can commit to an inpatient program. There are some who truly need to find an outpatient treatment center. The reality is that both are excellent, and the right outpatient program can be just as effective as inpatient care.

A high quality outpatient rehab will include many methods of treatment, including individual therapy and group therapy. Both are often essential parts of the recovery process.
